Co-founders Emily Elizabeth and Sam Shakura have combined creative and spiritual forces to bring to life their dharma project ‘Rebel With A Cause’, an organization of compassionate artists, designers, creatives, and avant-garde entrepreneurs that want to make a difference in their community through the healing powers of art.
When we think of art, we think of it in a very holistic way. Painting, fashion and interior design, handcrafted jewelry, meditation, yoga, sculpting, dancing, singing, cooking, etc… the list is endless. Together we are passionate about providing our communities with the same wholeness that we receive daily from the pursuit of our creative passions. We believe in the practice of art as a tool in creating a life infused with a divine sense of self-purpose, positive health, happiness and harmony.
We have teamed up with over seventy local artists and seek to continue to align with creatives who share the same ambitions. Together we plan to grow our organization’s power and influence in providing benevolent community events, workshops, and fundraising to lend a hand to our local communities. No matter what artistic medium one explores – you too can become a ‘Rebel With A Cause’.
Our first year Rebel ‘cause’ is focused on providing several local charitable organizations and shelters with free-to-attend creative workshops in the Summer of 2018, and the opportunity to turn these creative teachings into an avenue of affluence and abundance in our late Summer of 2018 art market. To kick off our first series of workshops, we are thrilled to be working alongside Karis Society, Mamas For Mamas, and of course Third Space Life Charity! In the future, we intend to broaden the horizons of how we can help others, with avenues such as scholarships for art education, ‘art for healing’ summer camps and festivals, and events like markets and art shows to support our professional art culture.”
